Club Olympus are pleased to tell you that the Poolside Bar is now fully open.

Mick and Stacey had a very busy weekend and were rushing around getting things organised this morning (Monday). As you can see, the whole bar area has been completely re-vamped with a much more modern, light and bright feel. The decoration work is not yet finished and there is still some work yet to be done. This work however is not major and won't prevent the bar from functioning.

There are a couple of TV's yet to be installed and some finishing off done. All sporting events are being shown and the kitchen is open!

Worthingtons Bitter, Carling Lager, Estrella Damm Lager, Strongbow Cider are all on draught. The usual bottled beers such as Coronita, Heineken, Dorada and Magners are available, all served in iced-glasses. For an extremely refreshing summer drink Mick and Stacey have installed Estrella's "Damm Lemon" which is their lager with a hint of bitter lemon - superb!

You will be more than welcome at the Club Olympus Poolside Bar.

We just wanted to say thank you to Steve and Roy of The Winning Post Bar who did a sterling job when the Club Olympus Poolside Bar was closed briefly for refurbishment.

Big Steve and little Roy provided a poolside service and looked after our guests very well so thanks again guys.

You will be pleased to know that the Club Olympus Poolside Bar is now open on a limited basis. An extensive refurbishment programme has been undertaken by the new management team and whilst the the work is not complete, the kitchen is open and running a snack service. Ice cold Beer and soft drinks are also being served.

Can we introduce you to Michael Wilkin and Stacey Lightfoot who are the new team at the Poolside Bar

Many of you will recognise Michael as he worked with our In-house team for quite a while. Both Mick and Stacey have great experience in the hospitality trade both in the UK and in Tenerife. Michael is originally from Shipley near Bradford in West Yorkshire but spent many years in the Newcastle area. Stacey is from Oldham in Lancashire.

They bring a youthful, energetic and vibrant presence to the resort and we are sure that you will be very pleased with the results.

The bar renovation will be completed very shortly and we will get some photos on the website as soon as we can.

Going through the photo archives we came across this shot taken not too long ago of Tony Rhodes (who heads up the UK side of Olympus group) with ITN Newscaster Alastair Stewart. The photo was taken at the OTE annual conference, an event sponsored in part by Club Olympus.

Alastair was awarded an OBE in 2006 for services to charity and broadcasting. Just one project that he is involved with is the 'Just a drop' campaign giving fresh water to thousands of children in areas where water is an issue.

For many years he has been the Moderator of the OTE (Organisation for Timeshare in Europe) conferences. He is a great supporter of the industry and has assisted greatly in raising the profile of timeshare.

Recently the OTE has changed its name to the RDO (Resort Development Organisation). The RDO has a brilliant website that you can visit by clicking here. They are a trade body who firmly regulate their members. Club Olympus are proud to be founder members of both the OTE and RDO.

Flip-flops are an internationally recognised symbol of holidays and good times. Recently my flip-flops have featured in several fishing shots to give an idea of the scale of the caught fish. However, here are my flip-flops in pure holiday mode at the beach in Tenerife. Enjoy :-)
