Dave's grandson Ethan suffers with the extremely rare genetic disorder Tay-Sachs disease. Club Olympus wanted to assist Dave and Paula in their campaign to make people aware of this heartbreaking terminal illness.

The Poolside Bar at Club Olympus is nearing completion after its recent renovation. Landlord and Landlady Mick and Stacey have been working extremely hard to give the bar a much needed new look and we are getting there!

Here is Footballer Nicky Summerbee with Hedley and Tony Rhodes, enjoying the hospitality of the new look Poolside Bar. Nicky began his career at Swindon Town and reached the pinnacle of his career playing for his dad's old side Manchester City (You might remember Mike Summerbee). Later he played with Bolton Sunderland and even Bradford City briefly. At one time he held the world record for the fastest kick of a ball and appeared on Roy Castle's "Record Breakers".

Nicky stayed at Club Olympus while competing in the International Soccer 7's tournament. He was a pleasure to have down at the resort and really enjoyed his time with us.

Over the weekend Club Olympus hosted a number of international footballers, we had the welcome party on Saturday morning AND hosted the Club Olympus Owners Committee who were here for one their quarterly meetings.

Pictured above is Ray Karlsen in full flow at the Saturday morning party. Ray is currently heading up the overall Customer Liason Team. He has had a close relationship with Club Olympus for more than 20 years and is overseeing a number of operations for us. In his pre-Tenerife life, Ray was a professional footballer and retailer of high quality menswear in his native Liverpool.

Football is in his blood which means an easy link up with the pro-footballers we hosted over the weekend for the Tenerife International Soccer 7's Tournament.

Here are Ivan and Tony Rhodes with one of the "Legends" teams including Ally Mauchlen, Darren Jackson, Naim and Nicky Summerbee.

It was a great tournament and we will post some more photo's shortly. We will also report on the Owners Committee meeting in the next day or so.

A feature of holidays at Club Olympus is the daily Aquarobics with the Kate and Gabby. Our heated main pool makes it reasonably comfortable all year round for this daily kick-start to your day.

Tenerife is hosting the International Soccer 7's again this year. Players such as Ally Mauchlen, Marcus Gayle, Nicky Summerbee, Darren Jackson, Naim, Carlton Fairweather, Johan Mjalby and Michael O'Neill are heading to Tenerife for this weekends competition. Many of the players are staying at Club Olympus and will be here from tomorrow (13th November) onwards for a week. The players are from Leicester, Wimbledon, Glasgow Rangers and Glasgow Celtic, Barcelona and Wimbledon.

Martin Tierney, the organiser, from Soccer Experience said "It's a great attraction for these top 'Masters' guys. They love coming to this beautiful Island and having some fun mixed with a bit of serious competition."
